Knowing our Human Design,we’ve experienced the traps of thinking we know what we want.
The Law of Attraction is a theory that has regulated since the moment of energy or creation. The theory’s foundation is “like attracts like” and it affects all of us, all the time, whether we believe it or not. In 2006, with the release of the movie The Secret, their account of the Law of Attraction became a cultural phenomenon. You may recall the scene where the little boy is thinking about getting a new bicycle. Then, magically a new bicycle appears at his door, which had been purchased by a grandfather type character. Much of their expressions of the Law were on getting things. Maybe you’re like me? I’ve been an avid student of this theory since 2002, many times I’ve fall into confusion; thinking, the Law of Attraction is the Law of Wanting.
The Law of Attraction states there are 3 parts:
- Ask – Know what you want. Similar to ordering a sandwich at your favorite deli. You ask to have it fixed the way you like it.
- Believe – You must truly believe that what you are asking for will become yours, pushing all your doubts away. You know your sandwich will be delivered as ordered.
- Receive – Along with being an active player in reaching your desire, you have to notice when opportunity comes your way. You have to pay for your sandwich and be ready when your name is called.
What’s puzzling and contrary to the Human Design System is in step one; Asking. As students of Human Design we’ve experienced the traps of thinking we know what we want. The mind can play tricks and is not for making decision on what we want. The result is usually painful and unsatisfactory. We have tested and retested acting from conditions and acting authentically. The later feels better and brings more harmony. Clients often ask; “If I’m asking for what I want – from what I think I want, then, my head is making the decisions, right?” True and there are desires we have that originated from our purposefulness. Wayne Dyer says, “Your desires whisper in your heart.”
One key distinction I’m practicing is rechecking my “want list.” I invite you to join me. What’s on your list: a mate, a new car, a big pile of money, a promotion or is it feeling fulfilled, being appreciated, being of service, harmonious relationships, financial freedom? Wants are not a bad thing. Many times they are indicator of our unique expression and our purpose to serve. There is great power in asking ourselves; do I want this or that from my thinking mind or is it coming from a deeper more soulful place?
I’m proposing a refinement to the Law of Attraction, called the Law of Gratitude. Think about it! Everything we want either already exists or can be co-created in our world. Whether is it answers to our questions, clear next step, financial support, kindness, opportunities, meaningful work or an IPad. ‘It’ already exists. If like attracts like, the message we send out is what we get back. Sending out a message of wanting is being stuck in a rut. Sending out a vibration of gratitude attracts more to be grateful for.
The speed at which we receive back what we put out is getting faster and faster. Have you noticed? The skill and knowledge to fine tune our vibration is more important than ever. Our vibration is far more than our words or thoughts; it is our Aura. Our human aura represents the holistic energy field that uniquely surrounds each and every one of us. Your aura is your personal electromagnetic signature that tells every living thing around you what you are all about.
Join me, on Tuesday February 28, for this month’s free teleconference! Learn how your Aura functions, based on your Human Design Type. Gain awareness to reduce interference with your ability to attract what you want. Learn practical tools you can use to strengthen your Aura.
