IChing Hexagram 60 – Can Create a Container or Holding  for Depression

At the time of this writing, collectively we are at the last stop before we roll into the new cycle/new year, 2012. Each year we come to this final stop, in the IChing, Gate 60 the Gate of Limitation. The Gate of Limitation has the potential to hold depression; as its function is to hold back energy before action. It has the capacity to hold on to what came before, get stuck in the past, or stay with what is known. At the same time have the pressure to make something happen.

Sound familiar, Generators!?

Gate 60 has a higher purpose. That is to create a pause, a container, a framework for when the energy and timing is ripe. Much like a river has its banks to contain it; there are limitations to where the river flow can go. It is only in accepting our limitations or restraints that we can relax in the pause until it is time for new action, or change. Premature actions, even with the best intentions, can cause even more depression and frustration.

• What do you do when the energy for action has waned?

• What are your coping habits for restlessness?

• What plans do you have in place when depression knocks at your door?

• What do you DO when you’re waiting on the river bank of your life?

Share your Wisdom While Waiting

As a pure Sacral Generator myself, I’ve experienced many long pauses leaving me feeling stuck with energy for action but nothing to respond to. Through my journey of aligning with my Design, I’ve learned acceptance, surrender and ways to channel my energy until I have a response. One of the best coping mechanisms I’ve found is through dance, art and music. I invite you to share your wisdom and experiences while waiting. New Cycle begins January 22, 2012

Here’s a couple of my latest.

Nice! The trees appear to be dancing with each other.
